Ida Brandenburg Ballard

Today is August 17, 2003.

A month ago I didn't know I had a Great Aunt Ida.

In that short amount of time, I've not only found her,
but also missing family members I didn't know I had.

Aunt Ida was Grandma Lettie's sister.

She was born June 10, 1865,
oldest child of Louis/Lewis and Caroline Brandenburg.

Aunt Ida married William Henry Ballard
(Jan. 5, 1862 - Nov. 30, 1939)
and died Feb. 22, 1950.

ANECDOTE

I was in South Carolina 3 times,
1941, 1943, and 1949.

I probably met Aunt Ida;
I do wish I could remember her.

She was survived by 8 children, according to her obituary:

Mrs. J.T. Dantzler, Elloree, SCMrs. H.T. Sloan, Holly Hill, SC W. H. Ballard, San Francisco, CAMike A. Ballard, San Francisco, CAJohn A. Ballard, Atlanta, GAMack Ballard, Charlotte, NCBrunson B. Ballard, Clinton, SCEmmett R. Ballard, Elloree, SC
There were also 8 grandchildren
    and 2 great-grandchildren.

I know I will find Aunt Duck in here somewhere.
Lena Ballard Dantzler, born 1888.

But that's a story for another page,
if I can ever get the story.
