Aunt Nelly

Little Cornelia with Father Ignatius.

I remember hearing about Father Ignatius for my entire childhood.

Were it by my family's choice
I have no doubt he would be an official saint.

I confess before anyone even asks.

Yes, I enhanced the photo,
the original warranted some enhancement.
Trust me.

So, this is Aunt Nelly being carried by her father, my Grandpa.

In 2003 in my backyard.

Aunt Nelly and her dolls.

These dolls survived for quite some time,
my Grandma kept them dressed and on a bed.

We, my cousins and I, were sometimes allowed
to play with them, but very carefully.

Learning to be a model?

First Communion

One of my favorite pictures.

Graduation

Doesn't she look stylish?
My family was nothing if not stylish.

Her flower girl is Rita Guzzi.

In front of the house on Wabash Avenue.

Aunt Nelly and Aunt Babe with the famous Snooky the dog.

Aunt Nelly and Uncle Tommy

There is a story about this anniversary party that
my cousins Lois, Liz, and I threw for their Mom and Dad.

When the 3 of us were involved, there was ALWAYS a story somewhere.

This particular story is about a chocolate pudding pie
whose crust somehow didn't make it.
The whole thing ended up buried in the backyard.

Well hey, we were only kids.

To the present day...

Aunt Nelly with one of her great-grandchildren, Lexie.

Totally cool.
